Born in Reykjavík in 1946, Skúli Þór began taking photographs, both black-and-white and colour, when he was about 15, and has been doing so ever since. Skúli finds most of his material in the natural world, but also tackles other subjects. He has taken part in numerous exhibitions both in Iceland and abroad, and his photographs have been featured on postcards and calendars and used in books, advertisements and elsewhere. He works as a teacher of Biology and Photography at the Sund Grammar School, and taught Photography at Mímir-símenntun (a continuing education centre) for more than 20 years.
